| Standard Risk Measure |
A Standard Risk Measure score of 5 equates to a Risk Label of 'Medium to High' and an estimated number of negative annual returns over any 20 year period of 3 to less than 4. This is a measure of expected frequency (not magnitude) of capital losses, calculated in accordance with ASFA/FSC guidelines.
To provide capital growth over the medium to long term by investing in a diversified portfolio of growth assets with some defensive asset exposure and to achieve total returns after fees in excess of the benchmark over a rolling five-year period.
The Trust generally gains its exposure to a diversified portfolio of investments through a mix of investment managers.
The growth nature of the Trust provides a greater exposure to growth assets, such as property, Australian and international shares and alternative growth, with a moderate exposure to defensive assets, such as fixed interest, cash and alternative defensive.
A mix of passive, factor-based and active investment managers may be selected to manage the assets of the Trust providing differing yet complementary investment styles to achieve more consistent excess returns.
The Trust is authorised to utilise approved derivative instruments for risk management purposes and investment efficiency. Please note that derivative instruments cannot be used to gear the Trust’s exposure.
The underlying managers may utilise strategies for the management of currency exposure. It is the strategy of the Trust that international currency exposure may be hedged. The Trust has the capacity to change the level and nature of any currency overlay or allocation to underlying managers to manage currency risk.
The Trust may be suitable for investors:
- with an investment time frame of approximately five years
- with a medium to high level of risk tolerance
- who are seeking capital growth with some income through a well-diversified portfolio
- who are prepared to accept some short-term volatility

As at 31 December 2025
The portfolio’s main positions are:
Overweight to global shares reflecting our pro-risk view on growth assets. The strategy is currently overweight emerging markets, Europe and UK where valuations are most appealing.
The overweight to global shares (hedged), reflects our view that foreign currency is modestly unattractive, with the Australian dollar supported by the recovery in cyclical assets and commodity demand.
Underweight position to unlisted property which helps to fund the overweight to global shares which we believe offer greater risk/reward potential.
Overweight to fixed income, primarily via an overweight to short maturities. This is a short duration credit strategy which we expect to outperform traditional bonds and cash where we are underweight.
Contributors to performance
Solid returns in global shares (2.4%) and very strong returns in emerging market shares (6.7%).
The exposure to insurance-related investments (+3.8%) generated strong returns.
Exposure to fixed interest and private debt contributed positively to performance. The diversified fixed interest strategy returned +0.1% and private debt returned +2.5%.
Detractors from performance
Weak returns and performance from some of the underlying managers in Australian shares (-1.0%).
